Commonwealth Court

The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania hears appellate matters from state agencies in the areas of labor relations, school funding, state probation and parole, workman’s compensation, zoning, land use, unemployment compensation, public utilities, licensing, and state election disputes, etc.  The Commonwealth Court also has original jurisdiction in matters involving the Commonwealth as a party.  Currently, there are nine judges on this court; two seats will be open during the 2021 election cycle.
Superior Court
Established in 1895
10 year term
The Superior Court of Pennsylvania hears appellate matters from the Court of Common Pleas in Civil, Criminal, and Family matters.  There are currently fifteen seats on the Superior Court, one of which will be open during the 2021 election cycle.
